A quick alla prima study of the great TJ Toohey.  I was using student grade paint so the colors are  muddy, but I'm happy with the likeness.

Cast Studies

The eye study was done on arches oil paper - which I highly recommend for oil sketching. It has great tooth.

This is a quick study of the stable at the place we keep our horse in Ellicott City

I have several upcoming landscapes and was trying a new pallette: Naphtol Red, Azo Trans Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Pthalo Blue, Burnt Umber, Titanium white.  I'm happy with the greens and blacks.
